Coulda, Shoulda, Didnt, Why the San Francisco 49ers should have 10 Super Bowl Championships

Today I watched the 49ers lose to the Steelers. This game could have been a different outcome if the ball would have just bounced a few different ways. Its early in the season but that win would have been nice.

The San Francisco 49ers have 5 Super Bowl Victories. But since I've jumped on the Niners band wagon in the 80's, I've seen a few chances for more slip away.  Lets recap!

Below is a list of the ones they did get, and the ones that got away.

January 24th, 1982
Super Bowl XVI - 49ers beat the Bengals 28-21 - WIN #1

January 20th, 1985
Super Bowl XIX - 49ers beat the Dolphins 38-16 - WIN #2

1987
The niners lose to the underdog Vikings in the divisional round when they dominated all season. This could have easily been Super Bowl Win #3

January 22nd, 1989
Super Bowl XXIII - 49ers beat the Bengals 20-16 - WIN #4

January, 28th 1990  (1989 season)
Super Bowl XXIV - 49ers beat the Broncos 55-10 - WIN #5

1990
This one hurts the most for me because it spoiled the 3 peat, *possibly even a 4 peat if '87 was different.  Roger Craig fumbles and the Niners lose on a fluke to the Giants. A 14-2 season, with the only losses coming to the Packers and Rams, this team seemed unstoppable. Until that ball came loose. Would have been Win #6, which would have been light years ahead of other teams that were trying to get "one for the thumb"

January, 29th, 1995
Super Bowl XXIX - 49ers beat the Chargers 49-26 - WIN #7

2011
Niners get screwed when Kyle Williams turns over two punts giving the Giants two easy scores. If this doesn't happen, the 49ers walk to an easy Super Bowl Win.  WIN #8

2012
The Niners were favorites to beat the Ravens this year. But until the lights went out in the Super Dome the Ravens were rolling. This WIN #9 could have gone either way, but since the season was so wild, with the Alex Smith drama and the Harbaugh Brothers playing each other. We could have had a great year if it didn't come down to one incompletion in the end zone.

2013
Niners were rolling into the playoffs coming off a great home win against Seattle. A few botched plays in the NFC championship game let this one slip away. It was also the day that every Niners fan officially hated Richard Sherman. This could have been Harbaughs 3rd straight Super Bowl Win. Win #10

But you know what they say, "Any Given Sunday"

*I'm sure I missed a few as well, like the 1992 season.
