"Live from the Grave" its John Belushi!

My friend Jack Zullo put on a great John Belushi tribute last night at the Westside Comedy Theater on the Santa Monica Promenade.  The show covered John's performing life from his beginning's in the "West Compass Players" comedy troupe, his sketch show's with the "National Lampoon's Lemmings" & "Saturday Night Live" and also his movie career.

The show was a mix of sketch performance's, filmed short's and a live band.  Jack also performed as "John Belushi" singing, songs from the "Blue's Brother's" and other weird song's from the 70's.

(above) Chris Westlund was on hand to record the live action. He shot all of the pre-recorded videos that played during the show. Chris is also the cinematographer on my "Snatch Adams" and "Jizzmaster" comedy shorts.   Later this spring we will be shooting "Old Vampire" and "Jizzmaster 2" with "Westy".

The show was a great time, and Jack really put his heart and soul into it. It's great to see actors taking control of their own destiny by creating their own projects.  I'm glad the show was a success.   *The show was put on as a tribute to John Belushi on the 30th anniversary of his death.
