The 2014 MTV Video Music Awards last night. I sat and watched them with two catty women who sat judging outfits as they wore clothes from "Forever 21" and "Ross".
Here is what we learned from the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards.
- Usher is apparently still relevant? I figured he'd be hocking energy drinks by now.
- Beyonce has more shitty songs than I knew of.
- watching the VMA's is the best way to feel old.
- you aren't homeless because of bad luck, most likely its because you can't read.
- apparently Lorde is in the "rock n roll" category
- Taylor Swift is on the fast track to wearing pant suits in her future.
- Katy Perry still has horrible taste in men.
- that host "Sway" is still working for MTV, that guy is like the new Kurt Loder.
- Reddit will have plenty of GIF's to pick from of Taylor Swift dancing bad.
- Maroon 5 actually survived playing songs outside in Inglewood.
- Jennifer Lopez does not like Miley Cyrus

"Bad Words" - Movie Review
I've seen just about every movie in my local Redbox. Even the terrible ones with Wizards and talking Trolls and shit. So I'm always excited when they get some new releases. This week one of those new releases was the Jason Bateman film "Bad Words"
I'd never seen a trailer for it, only the poster when it played on the Santa Monica promenade for about 2 weeks. So I just assumed it was about some spelling bee coach who has to inspire some poor kid to "apply himself" and learn to spell or something.
Boy was I wrong! This movie is like "Bad Santa" man! Jason Bateman acts like a total and its pretty fricken funny. It's totally worth watching. Bateman plays a guy who is a 40 year old genius and has a personal quest to compete in the U.S's best spelling bee. (*I don't want to give away all the details, because there is more) Also, on a side note, I was super tired when I put the movie in and expected to fall asleep by the middle, but it was interesting enough to keep me up the whole time.
So make sure to check out "Bad Words" - Here is the trailer!
*now If you'll excuse me, I have to get back to my girlfriend who is yelling at me because I've never seen "Dead Poet's Society".

Summerslam 2014 - Sunday, August 27th - Staples Center
WWE Wrestler "R-Truth" hooked us up with some SummerSlam tickets for this years event at the Staples Center!

Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins tore the roof off the place in their Lumberjack match. |
Bray Wyatt hits the ring. |

Cena and Lesner about to square off. |
Lesner celebrates the victory. |
The crowd went nuts on Cena, booing him and chanting "You Suck" as he left the ring without his championship belts. |
Their fight was entertaining, but earlier, these two stank ass fools were in front of me in the concession line taking forever. So I enjoyed watching them both take a beating. |

Boyhood
I know this blog is usually filled with immature bullshit, but allow me to talk serious for a second about a great movie called "Boyhood". I still haven't seen Transformers 4, Turtles, or Hercules yet, but my girlfriend really wanted to see Boyhood so I dragged my feet and saw it with her. What a great surprise. Its an amazing movie. It's almost 3 hours long, but it doesn't feel like it. I cant sit and give you some elaborate movie review with my own deep analysis of the film. Just go see it. You wont be disappointed. I think everyone will get something different from it. Its in limited release so it may not be playing in your town, but this movie is going to absolutely crush on Netflix when more people discover it. I also think it will win some awards.
Here's the trailer
The movie spans 12 years. So its filled with songs from 2001 to the present. Below is one of them. "Hero" by Family of the year.
*Immature update! My authentic Freddy Krueger glove just arrived in the mail! Check it out!

Matt Knudsen - "American" CD release party at Bar Lubitch - "Josh and Josh show" - Thursday, August 7th
This past Thursday, "The Josh and Josh" show hosted a CD release party for Matt Knudsen's new comedy album "American". It took place at Bar Lubitsch in Hollywood and it was hilarious. With performances by comics like Jamie Kaler, Christian Duguay, Nate Bargatze and Matt himself, it was a killer night of comedy. (there were more comics, but I missed them cuz we arrived late. I parked like 3 miles away because I thought there would be no parking near the bar, but it turns out there was plenty of parking, so I walked for no reason)
Anyways! Matt is a killer comedian, (and also one of the best improvisers in town) We first met when he used to run the Thursday comedy show at 'OBriens" on Main Street in Santa Monica. He's got comedy that is so strong that you could see his act a thousand times and still laugh. He has very relatable material and his comedic character is super strong. *and its clean as well.
He's the real deal! I'd like to write about his jokes on this blog but I don't want to spoil it for ya.

*also he is doing a US tour this summer/fall, so check him out if he comes to your town.
