The last regular season 49ers game at Candlestick park was this past Monday. It was one of the top games I've seen at the stadium with the 49ers winning in historic fashion. What an awesome game.
I got this photo off twitter, some dude took it in the parking lot. |

Sarah is afraid of escalators, calling them "death traps" so we had to take the stairs. Normally I would force her on the escalator and tell her to "chill the fuck out" but that would lead to a snowballing of conflict that would last throughout the game. So I played along and agreed that taking the stairs is a great idea. Hell, we could use the exercise.
Here she is in front of this dangerous apparatus.
Escalators, a rational fear. |
I thought the Niners would win by a blowout, but the Falcons played tough, hanging in till the 4th quarter, which led to one of the best plays in 49ers history. Navarro Bowman returning an interception for a touchdown to put the nail in the coffin. The crowd was going crazy.
After the game, Dwight Clark, Jerry Rice, Steve Young and Terrell Owens addressed the sold out crowd.

Below are my seats, and if I want, I can pay 600 bucks to have them shipped to me before they demolish the park. I took a picture to make sure I don't get ripped off and sent the wrong ones.

After the game and the farewell celebration I lingered around for as long as possible trying to soak in some final memories. There is a small chance of the Niners playing another game at Candlestick so the cops wouldn't let anyone near the field. So we just hung out and took pictures.
At halftime, they spray pained the spot of "The Catch" and they will be cutting out the sod and transferring it onto the field at the new "Levi Stadium"
