49ers win! The last regular season game at Candlestick, "The Pick at the Stick"

The last regular season 49ers game at Candlestick park was this past Monday. It was one of the top games I've seen at the stadium with the 49ers winning in historic fashion. What an awesome game.

I got this photo off twitter, some dude took it in the parking lot.

Before the game, the 49ers hooked us up with a pre-game tailgate party in a tent with free food and drinks.  They also had a DJ with a dance floor.  49ers players from previous seasons mingled with everybody too.

Pre-game tailgate tent.

Former 49ers Wide Receiver J.J. Stokes hangs with the fans.

Sarah is afraid of escalators, calling them "death traps" so we had to take the stairs. Normally I would force her on the escalator and tell her to "chill the fuck out" but that would lead to a snowballing of conflict that would last throughout the game. So I played along and agreed that taking the stairs is a great idea. Hell, we could use the exercise.
Here she is in front of this dangerous apparatus.

Escalators, a rational fear.

When we got to our seats, there were colored sign boards attached. You hold them up after the 1st quarter, which made the picture below in the stands.

I thought the Niners would win by a blowout, but the Falcons played tough, hanging in till the 4th quarter, which led to one of the best plays in 49ers history. Navarro Bowman returning an interception for a touchdown to put the nail in the coffin. The crowd was going crazy.

After the game, Dwight Clark, Jerry Rice, Steve Young and Terrell Owens addressed the sold out crowd.

Below are my seats, and if I want, I can pay 600 bucks to have them shipped to me before they demolish the park. I took a picture to make sure I don't get ripped off and sent the wrong ones.

Floor trash will cost extra.

After the game and the farewell celebration I lingered around for as long as possible trying to soak in some final memories. There is a small chance of the Niners playing another game at Candlestick so the cops wouldn't let anyone near the field.  So we just hung out and took pictures.

At halftime, they spray pained the spot of "The Catch" and they will be cutting out the sod and transferring it onto the field at the new "Levi Stadium"

The last lights.

Bay Bridge, the next morning.
